A Day in the Kibbutz

Welcome to Kibbutz Ein Shemer – A unique kibbutz experience. We will take you back in time to the early days of the kibbutz even before the state of Israel was recognized.

We would like you to be part of our daily kibbutz life, see – feel – smell and taste the different aspects the kibbutz has and learn how it changed from the time the kibbutz was established till today.

We are happy to offer few programs to experience the kibbutz you will find below, see you soon!

We offer the following unique programs:

"A Kibbutz flavor"

On arrival, a kibbutz member will meet us and guide us on a tour of the kibbutz.We will start with an exciting tractor ride of the kibbutz. Through the journey, we will visit a number of different stations connected to the past and present – of the kibbutz. We will see the dairy farm, the industrial section and the family and children’s accommodation.

The amazing greenery of the kibbutz fields will accompany us throughout the tour.At the end of the ride, we will arrive at a special workshop where retired kibbutz members create arts and crafts as their daily work.It is possible to meet some of these retirees –the pioneers – to learn about the first days of the kibbutz and to discover what has happened throughout the years (available mornings only).

At the end of the tour, we will walk to the kibbutz dining room for lunch with the kibbutz members.

"Kibbutz tour and Falafel dinner"

On arrival, a kibbutz member will meet us and guide us on a tour of the kibbutz. We will start our tour with a visit to the kibbutz museum where we will take part in the kibbutz journey from the early days of the kibbutz to the present.

The special life of the kibbutz is based on sharing in all aspects and ways of life. We will learn how the members did this in the past and discover what changes they have made in the present.The museum tour will be followed by a movie about the kibbutz’s history.

We will then continue with an exciting tractor ride of the kibbutz. Through the journey, we will visit a number of different stations connected to the past and present of the kibbutz. We will see the dairy farm, the industrial section and the family and children’s accommodation.

The amazing greenery of the kibbutz fields will accompany us throughout the ride.At the end of the tractor tour, we will arrive at a special workshop where retired kibbutz members create arts and crafts as their daily work. We will complete the evening with a great Israeli meal of falafel in the old courtyard of the kibbutz.

Menu:

  • Pita bread
  • Fresh falafel balls
  • Mini cheese pastries
  • Humus and tehina
  • French fries
  • Fresh vegetable salad, cabbage salad and pickles
  • Ice cream
  • Water and juice
  • Tea and coffee

* The meal will be served buffet style (standing meal)
* Possibility to change the order of the visit according to the group’s needs
* The above option is for a minimum of 45 people in the group
* Option to add lunch in the with best regards main kibbutz dining room.

"Become a Kibbutz member for a day"

Great for Bar Mitzvah Missions and Family Tours. On arrival, a kibbutz member will meet us and guide us on a tour of the kibbutz.On this tour we find out what it really means to be a kibbutz member – a pioneer! We will start our tour with a fascinating visit to the kibbutz museum where we will take part in the journey from the early days of the kibbutz to the present. We will hear funny stories about the first days of the kibbutz.The museum tour will be followed by a movie about the kibbutz’s history.

Following the museum, we will embark on the experience of being pioneers ourselves. Wearing traditional pioneer's clothes, we will create our own kibbutz. We will build tents, do the laundry, guard the old guard tower and plow the field – all just like the old days! For the highlight of the day, we will bake fresh rolls in Sonya's brick oven and, of course, eat them when they are ready!We will continue with an exciting tractor ride of the kibbutz. Through the journey, we will visit a number of different stations connected to the past and present of the kibbutz. We will see the dairy farm, the industrial section and the family and children’s accommodation.

"Lunch en-Route menu"

Starters:
Five different vegetable salads
Fresh bread
Soup of the day

Main course:
Choose one chicken, meat or fish option
Possible for vegetarian substitution
Side dishes: two types of carbohydrates (rice, pasta etc) and hot vegetables

Desert:
Cake or fresh fruit

Drinks:
Water and juice will be served to the tables
Hot drinks – self service

Remarks:
* At the end of the meal you will be asked to clear off your dishes at the dining room dishwasher – thank you!
* The meals are eaten in the kibbutz dining room with the kibbutz members. The food on offer is the same that the kibbutz members eat The above menu is guaranteed for a group of minimum 45 people. For fewer than 45 people, the menu might change.
* The meal is available Sunday to Thursday only – meals are available on Friday and Saturday by special request only.
